It’s that time of the term when learning meets action — as our students put their knowledge and skills to the test during the TVET-CDACC Practical Assessments.

This season, students pursuing various programs including Perioperative Theatre Technology, Health Records and IT, Community Health & Development, and Science Laboratory Technology are demonstrating their competence through hands-on assessments held at different partner health facilities such as Nakuru Nursing Home, Bondeni Sub-County Hospital, and Rhonda Hospital.

Bridging Theory and Practice

The assessments are conducted by our lecturers under the strict supervision and guidelines of the TVET-CDACC examining body, ensuring that each evaluation meets national standards of competency-based education and training.

Students are first assessed in real clinical environments, where they apply classroom knowledge to real-life medical and technical situations. After completing these hospital-based practicals, they proceed to additional sessions in our skills laboratory, followed later in the month by their theory assessments.

Confidence Through Experience

This blended approach — combining clinical exposure with skills lab practice — is designed to test both head knowledge and hands-on ability. It equips students with the confidence, precision, and professionalism required to excel in their respective fields.
