Diploma in Nursing – Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN)
The Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN) Diploma in Nursing Program in partnership with the Nursing Council of Kenya is designed to cultivate skilled and compassionate healthcare professionals. At Nakuru College of Health Sciences and Management, we are committed to preparing compassionate and competent nurses who are ready to meet the evolving healthcare needs of individuals, families, and communities.
At the end of the training, the graduate will be a qualified clinical nurse, community nurse and also a midwife.
Our state-of-the-art simulation labs provide students with realistic, immersive learning experiences that simulate real-world patient care scenarios. From basic nursing skills to complex patient care simulations, students have the opportunity to develop clinical judgment, critical thinking, and technical skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Learners will gain hands-on experience through clinical rotations and practical training, providing them with the skills and confidence needed to excel in real-world healthcare settings.
Through partnerships with top-tier healthcare institutions and community organizations, students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in diverse clinical settings, including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and community health centers.

After completing Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN) Diploma in Nursing Program at Nakuru College of Health Sciences and Management, graduates have a wide range of practice areas to explore and pursue, depending on their interests, skills, and career goals. Some of the practice areas available to nursing graduates include:
- Acute Care Nursing: Acute care nurses work in hospitals (Level 6, Level 5, Level 4), clinics, and other healthcare settings to provide care for patients with serious or complex medical conditions. They may work in specialties such as emergency medicine, critical care, medical-surgical nursing, or specialty areas like oncology or cardiology.
- Primary Care Nursing: Primary care nurses work in outpatient settings such as physician offices, community health centers, and clinics, providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages.
- Community Health Nursing: Community health nurses focus on promoting health and preventing disease within communities. They may work in public health departments, community clinics, schools, or nonprofit organizations, providing health education, conducting screenings, and coordinating health programs.
- Pediatric Nursing: Pediatric nurses specialize in caring for infants, children, and adolescents in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, pediatric clinics, schools, and specialty pediatric practices.
- Nurse Education and Leadership: Nursing graduates may also choose to pursue careers in education or leadership roles, such as nurse educators, nurse managers, or nursing administrators.
