After completing the perioperative program at Nakuru College of Health Science and Management, graduates are well-prepared to pursue careers in various practice areas within perioperative care, as well as related fields in healthcare. Some of the primary practice areas available to perioperative program graduates include:
- Operating Room (OR) Nursing: OR nurses work in surgical settings, assisting surgeons and surgical teams during procedures. They ensure the operating room is properly set up, assist with surgical equipment and instrumentation, and provide patient care before, during, and after surgery.
- Ambulatory Surgery Nursing: Ambulatory surgery nurses work in outpatient surgery centers, providing care to patients undergoing same-day surgical procedures.
- Perioperative Educator: Perioperative educators work in academic institutions, hospitals, or professional organizations, providing education and training to perioperative nurses, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Perioperative Research: Some graduates may choose to pursue careers in perioperative research, conducting studies to advance knowledge and improve practices in perioperative care.
